First of all, thanks for the comment, Cubphanatic. Zambrano's antics consistently opens himself up to criticism. His track record includes bean balls, clubhouse fights, outlandish behavior more befitting a thug than a professional athlete - and then he wants our sympathy? I refuse to enable childish behavior by standing quiet. The Yankees do not, and would not tolerate bad behavior. Maybe that's why they win.

Big "Z" has given a lot to this franchise, to call him "the disgrace", is worthy of a Yankees fan.

Why Hendry didn't pursue Suppan over Marquis I'll never know. I agree - it's the fundamentals that have killed this team since April. Blanco may not have the skills to be a regular, but he is about as fundamentally sound a player as they have.

Jason Marquis continues to be frustrating as well...he leaves too many pitches up, as evidenced by getting tagged in the first two innings, then settles down.

Kendall failing twice to get the bunt down cost us dearly. Simple execution play, I mean come on, Blanco did it in his first AB off the DL on that squeeze against the Giants.

I am going to confess that I am a lifelong Sox fan. However, I have never been one of those insane Sox fans who foams at the mouth and wishes the Cubs would die in a plane crash. Look, a huge victory for the Cubs only makes the whole city look better.

With the season being as horrid as it has been for the Sox, I have to say, it has been rather fun to see the Cubs turn things around lately. Suddenly the race against the Brewers is looking exciting.

I wish the Cubs well and I really think the stand an excellent chance of overtaking the Brewers and winning the division.

As a lifelong Cardinals fan I have taken my share of lumps this year The pain has been eased considerably this past week with slightly improved play by the Cards and the soap opera that is the Cubs.So I will close by saying that although Cub fans are hurting right now you are providing a great public service to Cardinal fans and I thank you. Fredbird
