Chicago Cubs baseball officially began its marathon spring training schedule today that will see the club play 39 games in 39 days with only two off days over the course of the next six weeks.
The spring training schedule commenced today with a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Hohokam Park and will end April 3-4 in a two-game series against New York in the new Yankee Stadium. Highlights of the Cubs schedule involve a two-game set with the cross-town rival White Sox in Las Vegas (March 4-5) and an exhibition game on March 12th against the World Baseball Class team.
WGN-TV also will be active this spring, broadcasting five March games.
