It’s good to see Chicago Cub closer Ryan Dempster rounding into mid-season form already.
In one inning of relief against the K.C. Royals on Tuesday, the mighty righty once again was able to snatch victory away and nearly hand the Cubs a defeat. In his one inning of work, Dempster served up three hits and the tying runs to force extra innings.
Ronny Cedeno, who seems assured a spot on the opening day roster, rewarded the Cubs decision with a three-run homer.
The good news is that Dempster threw strikes - 11 out of 12 pitches. The bad news is - he got shelled by the Kansas City Royals.
By the way, the Cubs won, 13-10.
